It Sits Well (Middle Age)
Well, it has been one great weekend. I’m ending two weeks of vacation (yes, I finally took one), celebrated my 47th birthday Friday, and I return to work tomorrow. I must say, this middle-age thing feels pretty good. I marked it by getting a good haircut, choosing fresh plants for the home and hosting my own private wine-tasting. Then, after my dinner date predictably cancelled, I ordered-in enough Cajun food (as authentic as can be found in Chicago, anyway) to last me all of next week. I received birthday wishes from most of the people I care about, and who care about me, and instead of blowing a bunch of money going out and being non-productive, spent both evenings with longtime friends. It’s a blessing to have them. That’s livin’.
